Home birth

We support home birth as a safe option for low-risk, healthy women who are between 37 and 41 weeks into their pregnancy and have not experienced any complications during that time.

Our priority is to provide safe, supportive and effective midwifery care if you choose to give birth to your baby at home.

We base our criteria for this service, which for reasons of geography we can only offer to women who live within our community boundaries, on the Birth Place Study (NPEU 2011).

For more information on home births, please speak to your midwife or contact the Community Midwives' Office on 020 321 2581.
